Exactly, the Enlightenment exposed reason as antithetical to religion, which to a lesser extent is still true today.

People like Locke, Jefferson, and Paine helped establish the truths that man rules by reason not revelation, that the right to govern come from the governed, not god.

These were massive, critical steps forward.

Christianity took Europe INTO the Dark Ages, merrily burning witches, hunting out apostates, banning science, persecuting scientists - the secular Enlightenment brought it out of it.


Its amazing the crap that guy spouts in defense of Christianity. Its like he's never seen a history book.
