That's not a very convincing argument. Sounds more like boiler plate BS nonsense.

Especially when you consider that Credit Default Swaps and other bundled securities were devised and traded, completely without regulation.

What law on the books, properly enforced, could've dealt with the misuse of Credit Default swaps and the like?

All of them....relaxed oversight and enforcement by SEC, FDIC, OCC, FRB

And Bush appointed the people who managed those agencies....didn't he?
