To: puborectalis who wrote (14491 ) 6/30/2009 7:48:35 AM From: GROUND ZERO™ Respond to of 103300 I agree with you in your ideals, it sounds great, but you cannot be an idealist in a realistic world... if such a program could actually exist, then I would be the first to jump on the bandwagon... but, that's not what will happen... people who need a diagnostic test will have to wait a year for it as they do in Canada or in Great Britain, their condition will only get worse while waiting and many will die waiting, as they do in Canada and in Great Britain... look at Canada or Great Britain and tell me if you want that system here... take a real look at what they have, and their health care systems are still going broke... The system will be overwhelmed, clogged, and jammed beyond belief... you couldn't handle the mammoth patient load because there wouldn't be enough doctors or staff to handle the work load, and your pay will be minimal, do you really think the government would let you earn your private income? Not a chance, what are doctors and medical staff earning in Canada and or Great Britain? Take a cold hard look before you leap... And look beyond the initial pipe dream promise this plan will offer... nurses will need to take up the slack, but their training is not adequate for the specialized needs of many patients, so to see a specialist the patient will need to wait another year or two, and then die waiting... the government wouldn't care if patients die waiting, a sick patient is an expense to the government, nothing more... can't you see how that plan will become a nightmare for everyone? Our life expectancy will definitely go down... And still, at the end of the day no one will get any legitimate care... yes, everyone will have "health care," but only on paper and the government will look like everyone's hero, but no one will receive legitimate health care because it won't really exist... This country works because we let the free market system find solutions to problems, not big government who has no clue, that's not progress, that's communism... give private enterprise the incentive to create a program to address our social needs and a company will find it, I can guarantee it, this has always been the case...
