This is the best thing to happen in California in 30 years. The crux of the problem in California is prop 13. For far too long the state of California has tried to work around this ridiculous law. Only a crisis of the sort California is now facing will shake them out of this stupidity. As with all the rest, bailouts alow people to escape their own stupidity and pass the cost along to those who are not so stupid. Bailouts are a tax on reasonable people to benefit stupid people. If Washington is wise, it will let California face the music on its own.
