Scale isn't just the number of dollars.

Also the entitlement programs, or any national single payer programs will be on a biggest scale strictly in dollars than Reagan's or Bush's tax cuts. That's esp. true because the tax cuts will likely be less permanent (There was a small increase under Reagan, an increase under Bush I, and one under Clinton, now Obama might increase taxes counteracting) at least part of Bush's cut. Considering the time factor the new government programs are likely to involve a massively greater amount of dollars. Even if you don't consider that point they are still likely larger.

I do understand your point about the stickiness of entitlements, but they can be adjusted also, as SS has and medicare will...

We have had entitlements since before my parents where born. So far the changes have been tweaks at the margin. Tax changes can be completely reversed by the next administration or even the same one. Get back to me when someone gets rid of Social Security or Medicare without a replacement program.
