I see your point. Everyone wants services but nobody wants to pay for them. This has to be reconciled, and it will take pain to get there.

Only a crisis of the sort California is now facing will shake them out of this stupidity.

I doubt it.

The blind, consumate greed of the tax haters will allow then to go over the cliff before paying up for their share of the government.

They will fall into the abyss with the unshakable belief that taxes are for other people.
