I witnessed the press fall in love with a similar "Mom in Tennis shoes" candidate years ago. Her name was Patty Murray, she came from no where and was propped up by the media big time against an entrenched incumbent.

Talk about a light-lunch. I've seen her debate a few times, she always loses, but still wins re-election.
