Thanks for the post on volume. If I were on the board's executive committee, I would make any important announcement at the shareholders' meeting and do damage control the following day with the conference call. The confirming negative quarterly report with it's consequences for the stock price was bad enough. If they are also making a change in CEO, it would probably be seen as further instability and a negative to be "handled" during the meeting and conference call. If they are announcing a buyout, again, they would need to address the concerns of the shareholders. No matter what price they agreed upon, some shareholders would feel it should be more. Also, layoffs may be good for the bottom line, but they create disruptive tension internally and morale can plummet. Basically, they have PR problems at the moment and it makes sense to me that they are handling it this way.

Maybe they'll do a stock buy-back with all that cash. All I know is that the stock price is good right now for a company with so much potential.

Did anyone see the Monday Night Football ad.? I missed it.
