kayco, i think gold is in a trading range. my definition of gold taking off is when GLD gets over $100 on spiked volume. otherwise, up and down, up and down.

i think we go lower once folks get hit with round 2 of the depression / deflation scare. the economy off its rails means nobody buys things means lower prices... you get the idea.

it will be temporary, imho, but it will come before the very high inflation rates.

i'm wrong a lot, so take it for what it is worth. ;-)

I don’t think this country can wait it out till Oct. or Nov. without having substantial longer term effects.

I know several businesses that have been around for decades that are burning their reserved capital to keep the doors open. They tell me if things do not begin to improve within the next 4-8 weeks they will be shutting the doors or, as most businesses will begin doing, borrowing and increasing debt to stay afloat.
This is what I think the banksters are counting on in the near term to compensate for the soon to be credit card meltdown. Survival loans at 12-18% as the Gov. continues to accommodate those too large to fail while insanely taxing those who actually create wealth.

Being in business since the late 70’s the escalating cost of staying in business has tripled just over the last 15 years. Insurance alone (worker’s comp, commercial liability, health, etc.) cost 400% more since 1990. Material cost has skyrocketed and they keep telling me inflation is near nonexistent. Now with the new tax increases coming with yours truly being the major target I get to look forward to restructuring my entire business to fall under the guidelines of the new energy bill.

Funny thing is those who are successful in business even in difficult times find this new Obama environment extremely dangerous. If the current trend is not derailed soon there is a very good chance your children will be living their twilight years in abstruse poverty.
