Summary:
Working gas in storage was 2,721 Bcf as of Friday, June 26, 2009, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net increase of 70 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 615 Bcf higher than last year at this time and 467 Bcf above the 5-year average of 2,254 Bcf. In the East Region, stocks were 112 Bcf above the 5-year average following net injections of 55 Bcf. Stocks in the Producing Region were 252 Bcf above the 5-year average of 749 Bcf after a net injection of 4 Bcf. Stocks in the West Region were 102 Bcf above the 5-year average after a net addition of 11 Bcf. At 2,721 Bcf, total working gas is above the 5-year historical range.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration is expected to report that 85
billion cubic feet
of gas were added to storage during week ended July 3,
according to the average prediction of 16 analysts and traders in a Dow Jones
Newswires survey.

Injection estimates for this week's EIA report ranged from
71 bcf to 100 bcf with most traders and analysts expecting
stocks to rise by about 83 bcf when data is released Thursday
at about 10:30 a.m. EDT, a Reuters survey showed.

For the same week last year stocks rose an adjusted 89 bcf,
while the five year average gain for that week is 90 bcf.
If weekly injections match the five-year average for the
remaining 18 weeks of the stock building season, storage will
begin next winter with a record high 3.845 tcf in the ground.
