Now when the hell have we ever seen government run things more efficiently? This is the point that, more than any other, ought to resonate with people. I've dealt with one branch of government or another on pretty much a daily basis for the last 30 years. IRS, Medicare, Medicaid, SSA, numerous state governments, etc. These are all hotbeds of gross incompetence. It is hard for me to understand how ostensibly experienced individuals (like RW, for example) can be so screwed up on this issue. You'd think he would have been around enough to know this. Anyone who has any experience dealing with government knows the massive costs, the poor service, the attitudes, the bureaucracy -- all grow exponentially as you grow the agency's budget and authority.
