Yes, it was, and is. It was very expensive in the States. But not the determining factor. The procedure was relatively new in North America, and the doctors here have mostly been trained by the same guy in France. The doc I see in Switzerland was an early understudy of the French pioneer, and has thousands of procedures under his belt. The most experienced guy in North America at the time may only have done 100 or so procedures.
