I live near a major city, and there are a couple of groups in my area specializing in geriatric care, but not many.

I'm glad to see this getting some attention. My current primary care physician specializes in geriatrics. I went out of my way to find someone who was attuned to the elderly. I was already tired of being told to "hop up on the table." <g>

An academic geriatrician, eh.... I have no problem with most of what she says, but this lady spent too much time in ivory towers. I don't know anyone in the field who doesn't have a good working knowledge of all these things.

Curious to see how even doctors join the doctor bashing.
