Corel holds design contest.

Hey now, here's a good idea.

OTTAWA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 28, 1997--Nine international artists collected top honors in Corel's $3 million world Design Contest, held at the Corel Center in Ottawa, Canada last night. The eighth annual event received over 3,000 thousand entries from 67 countries worldwide.

The "Best of Show" prize in the graphics category was awarded to Hans Joachim Cardinal of the Germany for his design depicting a small village in Italy. Cardinal's prize package, valued at $250,000 US, includes cash and prizes from Corel, Air Canada, Tektronix, Kodak, Ricoh and Hewlett Packard and others.

"This gala awards night showcases some of the best digital artwork in the industry," said Dr.Michael Cowpland, president and chief executive officer of Corel Corporation. "This event is to celebrate the outstanding capabilities of the designers as well as to thank them for their continued loyalty to the best graphics software on the market ."

They spent $3 million on this?

Kind of reminds me of that highly technical ad aimed at computer specialists, but placed in USA Today.

Hahahahahaha!

What a joke!

Way to go Hans. You get better treatment from Corel than its shareholders do.

Happy Investing!
