Head of high school Fellowship of Christian Athletes, captain of state championship winning basketball team. Miss Congeniality in Miss Alaska pageant. Worked as sports reporter. Ran fishing business with husband. Two terms on city council. Two terms as mayor. Chaired state Oil and Gas Conservation Commission. Resigned over corruption and filed complaints leading to resignations and fining of two commission members. Elected governor. Used veto power to make second-largest construction budget cuts in state history. Broke decades-long stalemate on gas pipeline negotiations, bid and awarded pipeline contract, used combination of incentives and hardball tactics to get largest company in the world to join the deal with the other two largest north slope leaseholders expressing interest in doing so. Add a lasting, loving marriage and five kids. I'm trying to think of a liberal woman with a comparable record of accomplishment. Plus good looks and a sunny optimistic disposition. Definitely the anti-liberal. They react to her like vampires to a cross.
