"Have you ever though past next week? You have any clue how our wealth is decreasing? Is your plan to get us energy independent to use every last drop of the oil we have?" The above is an interesting insight into why the left is so wrong. Allowed to work markets will handle the problem and we will NEVER run out of oil. As it gets more scarce its price will rise and alternatives would naturally come forward. Allowed to work markets can easily solve the problem. If we want to hurry the progress we could tax gasoline.
