Well, I don't see Palin and the discussion of important issues as being mutually exclusive. She's sort of a palate-cleansing sorbet when the details of healthcare and energy bog down. I spend a lot of time reading about those here, but not posting much since I consider myself unqualified, and I love a good side story. Sarah is certainly as interesting as Michelle's derrière, which as far as I know hasn't attempted a run at public office.

I can't speak for others, but my personal fascination is with the phenomenon of Palin and the position of many on the right that she should lead the Rep party and is a viable candidate in '12. Since I thought she was abysmally unqualified to serve even as VP, to offer her as a Pres. candidate with no more experience than she had a year ago boggles the mind. At least mine. Particularly when it's being proffered by such bigtime conservatives as Kristol.

As for the rest of the country, I think. yes, it IS easier than thinking about issues. But if you meant here at Center, pftt. Comic relief is needed occasionally.
