Simple question Mr Left - would you rather see a simple energy tax or a new huge government bureaucracy?

I'm not sure given those two choices.

For years I've called for taxes (and efficiency incentives) for energy clients.... not on the energy itself. Buy plates for a car that gets 12 MPG and pay $1K a year. Buy plates for a car that gets 40+ mpg and get a $500 rebate each year.

Energy is not the enemy; inefficient use of energy is the enemy. Tax the inefficient energy client, and incent efficiency.
