Jimmie, those of us who use Datek for daytrading fast moving stocks became spoiled by the consistent 10 or less second execution we usually got up until 2 months ago. The price then was $9.99, so we don't want to pay $30 now for what we already had. The posts here by Datek heavies like Peter Stern suggest Datek will only get better, not worse. Systems are available now for $20-25 that offer instant executions ordered right off the level II qoute screens at the click of a mouse. For daytraders commissions are significant overhead to overcome everyday, and keeping a sharp eye on expenses keeps those of us who are trying to succeed at this very difficult form of trading in the game while we develop/test our strategies. Most of those that succeed on a regular basis probably move on to more expensive, more reliable and faster order systems.

Datek, make it like it was before! PLEASE
