Kalifornia? I have a russian friend who spells america as amerika when she is feeling snippish toward it. i am guessing you are not russian, or wish that communism hadn't fallen, so I find interesting the K is used as, I gather, an insult toward California. I lived there for 23 years. saw the fiasco of prop 13 start. saw the fiasco of reagan closing state mental hospitals. etc. and as far as I know CA is not corrupt, or any more so than most other states. too many californians chose to let their state go down by prop 13. by dumping gray over a car tag raise. those californians have gotten what they asked for. too bad it affects everyone there.

as to the culture of California, there are few places better... as long as a person skips Orange County and a few other spots. just in my humble beach mellow opinion
