Yep, the Elites in government refuse to give it up. From the federal government to state and local. They really got a haul in the last 5 years too. Plus they like to wall themselves in. Rather than give it up they will cut your services and fire those under them.

Prior to the Bank bailout, in the private sector, the market took care of the excesses sooner or later. (sure, some get through) But with the ability to tax the government elite use your money to continually feather their nest.

They need to be called on it, like you brought up.

Term limits would help.

One problem with health care is that it's just a quasi-free market at best.
