>It has now become something of an artists colony which includes the large Dia Museum (some strange art in there). Main street is accumulating a lot of art shops, antiques, and artists living above them... They now have a new high school, grades constantly improving and I think a pretty dynamic governing body. It's become a weekend day trip for Manhattenites by train with the station next door to Dia... The Tallix sculpture casting foundry has been in Beacon a long time and has cast some very famous statues, eg the Korean War and FDR memorials in Washington..... They've also done da Vinci's horse from his orginal drawings..it's now in Detroit.

I've been to Dia a couple of times; it's not really my thing, but it's incredible space. My mom lives a couple of blocks from the high school and it seems like a nice building. Have you been to the new Asian restaurant in Beacon that opened a couple of months ago? The food's great and it's really reasonably priced.
