If they weren't already dead, the dummies who dreamed up our weights and measures should be shot for creating such a screwed up system. Maybe along with nitpickers like me!

Actually 1000 troy oz = 31,103 grams = 31.103 kg = 68.55 lb.

But a 1000 oz of prime rib really does weigh 62.5 lb. (FWIW)

A 1000 oz of Grey Goose may not weigh either one.

English/metric is bad enough but that avoirdupois/troy thang is enough to make you drink, forgetting entirely about the fluid ozs.
