I know! I saw Smithee and at least a hundred other bikers heading east on I-90, all without helmets that I could see. I had a bit of a "Bottom of the Sky Adventure." In Missoula, at the Book Exchange I found two autographed copies. Both times I was in that store I took them over to the clerks and said "you gotta read this book." They were very interested. I didn't get a chance to visit the bookstore where he had the signing on June 17. Yesterday on the way back I visited with a woman who is the friend of my hero and mentor for whom I was working in the woods on a project of his. Too much to tell here, but she is a dead ringer for Lam. Finally had her own place after a lifetime of living in other people's houses. I wrote out a recommendation for "Sky" on the back of an envelop, including the question "which one would you save?". I'm quite sure she understood. Then we went outside and looked at the precipitous mountain on the north side of her place where I could plainly see bighorn sheep trails. It was too hot for them so we did not see any.
