I think Winston is being wishful. The true use of the bad relations between the regime and the Iranian people is that the regime won't get most of the populace to rally behind them if Israel does bomb, hopefully. If they were Arabs they would rally anyway (cf. Lebanon 2006), but here I am guessing that Persians are different. Carl at Israel Matzav blog points out that the author of the Daily Times report is not the most reliable source, but guesses that this time he got it right.
