I see the new meme on PfP is that Palin will become the new leader that conservatives and Republicans in general have been lacking; that should be hilarious. Will Gingrich and Romney and Huckabee defer to the new Spectre Queen? I kinda doubt it. Will the congressional leadership seek her advice and counsel on how to vote on various key bills? Kinda doubt that too.

And most important, if she wants to be the new leader with all the media focus and scrutiny that involves, how long until she cries foul about the next story she doesn't like? Weeks at most, possibly days.

But she won't have anywhere to resign and run hide this time. The national spotlight is a real bitch sometimes, as successful national politicians can all agree.

Let's see what Sarah can do as a serious national player on her own.

Voters are quite familiar with the potential for nasty stuff from both sides.

Yes, but personally, seems to me that the Clintons endured more vicious and noisy attacks than any other politician of the past 20 years.
