Thanks for the link. I'm thinking that the differences in rules
and regulations is actually a small part of the difference in
financial outcomes between the Canadian banking system
and the U.S.

It's the differences in culture, business ethics and incentives
that drive a great deal of the difference. If that's true, our
problems go very, very deep...and the regulations that will
eventually have to be put into place to police what is basically
a runaway "outlaw" financial Wall St. business culture, and
totally skewed incentives and entitlement expectations, and a
basic lack of business ethics will have to be very, very strict.
