Not exactly. We all think it's due to selfish, greedy voters like YOU, who put in Prop. 13 and won't let it go, as it destroys your state.

Some odd corners they paint themselves into ain't they?

The way to fix an economy burdened by overspending and taxes too high is to raise taxes higher!

Jim, > Hopefully Fowler will read that.

Why? Like Ted and other liberals, John thinks it's all due to Prop. 13.

Wow! The author of the article you think is so impressive 'just happened' to compare CA to CT. Talk about an off the wall comparison. So what's wrong with it you ask? Well, if you bothered to compare the demographics between the two states you might find some significant differences that explain why CA trails CT academically other than because it misspends.

You see...for an example.......40% of Californians speak English as a second language while only 18% do in CT. That makes a huge difference when it comes to schools because the vast majority of kids going to school in CA are foreign born. Consequently, some schools in CA have nearly as many languages spoken as there are in the world. Do you have any idea how hard it is to teach a subject to kids whose first language is not English? Of course you don't but you think your equipped to criticize because afer all, you are an R.

The truth is I would not teach in a CA school if they paid me $100K per year. Its got to be a huge nightmare.

Now back to the real problem....and I repeat.....while there are number of causes for CA's fiscal problems, the primary one is Prop 13.
