I have 20 cookies from advfn, 2 from investorshub.advfn (which I rarely visit) and ONLY ONE from siliconinvestor.advfn....Don't want to do anything to mess up my subscription and ability to click on SI without logging in, but wondering what all those advfn cookies are doing...I've been plagued with spam on low-priced stocks and how to get rich quick playing them. Could advfn cookies be the source ??? Only other stock-related cookies are from WallStreetJournal/Barron's... where I have a subscription..and kinda doubt they would be a problem.

Still feel that cookies not related to subscriptions or frequently used sites..like Amazon where I shop...are an unwarranted imposition/intrusion...????....BTW I don't see any cookies from Google...

Hey with Web 2.0 sites - it is possible for them to tell what other sites you have visited even without using cookies

dang!

That's what I meant.

We are headed for a web clouded with complex bloated code where sites collect data and constantly hassle you with ads.

It's going to be a problem.

I hope Firefox comes up with a solution. One big reason I use Firefox now is Flashblock. Can't live without it.

Web 2.0/ajax came in with a lot of promise that is being wrecked by greed and bad code. I've hit sites where popup blockers don't work and they hassle you before they let you leave. It's only a matter of time before they won't let you leave without force quitting your browser.

Anyone try Firefox 3.5 yet? Supports HTML 5 and ogg media files.
