I don't attack the GOP for opposing Cap and Trade. I blame the GOP for being so willfully against anything other than "drill, baby, drill" that they have brought no alternative energy plans forward that would get this country on a path to oil independence and leadership in renewable energy without the inefficiencies and complexities of this monster that the Dems bring us. It is a fact that the GOP doesn't even believe we need to do anything other than drill to become oil independent, despite the fact that drilling everywhere would only result in 4-5 mbpd extra of oil and we import 16 mbpd of oil. It's inexcusable.

The GOP is broken. They aren't FOR anything. They're just against everything the Dems are for. That results in bad legislation, because the Dems don't have any credible opponents.
