I will be surprised if Palin intends to go softly into that dark night. If she doesn't, so be it. She will drum up what was and is her support.. the far-right who think Obama is not a citizen, who think he is Muslim (tho so what), that he is bringing down the jackboots (as they believed of Bill C), etc. but their numbers are smaller and growing smaller. yes, there are white young thugs, but even in Alabama they are fewer and fewer. most young whites here are fine with blacks and rap themselves and live beside mexicans etc. they are dying out, Koan. And drumming up the sort of populist anger that brought Andrew Jackson to power, and Bush II, won't work, either. The kids want to learn... to learn math and science beyond creationism... those people are such a minority, it is just they are loud. they are dying out. and if they aren't, we just need to jetison them somewhere they can happy and we can grow without them.
