If VBG's can denote sarcasm, and I used one when saying I was being sarcastic, it seems quite consistent to me. In other words, I do know the sarcasm should have been apparent without me announcing it (I just chose to do so anyway). When I said I was ok with you there was nothing I was trying to explain to you in which you could find obvious sarcasm (so it's very different), I'd just found your comments to be a relief by comparison to Koans, and if I grinned over that it wasn't sarcasm at all, I just felt like grinning.
