It was considered an appeal to prejudice to mention his middle name or that his father was Muslim - he claimed his father was really an atheist. Then after election, he goes to Cairo to tell them he's the son of a Muslim father, tell them the Muslim call to prayer is one of the most beautiful sounds on earth. Obama supporters will mention the things conservatives pointed out, the radical extremist connections, etc etc but the thing is those things didn't get much traction in the media. Just on conservative blogs mostly. Where were the mocking SNL parodies of Obama and his teleprompter? Where is the equivalent of Dowd writing in the NYT about "Caribou Barbie"? Having negative material on Astutebloggers or something just doesn't compare.
