It is incredible that the enormous increase in the monetary base is accompanied during this Year Of Green Shoots by an average velocity multiplier of less than one thus far for the entire year.

While I am not qualified to make a judgment I can back up with facts and figures, my intuition and the facts I am able to track suggest that we are on a deflationary precipice. I am in gold, cash and Treasuries for the vast part of my PF.

Greg, you're one of the more open-minded commentators on the current mixture of crises. In my opinion, this is no time for obstinate adherence to conventional thinking. It's a time of great danger, with the possibility of completely different event cascades.

The link to Hugh's article was posted for its value as contrarian thinking, not because I'm convinced he's right.
