Dale, trust me, the left will be living with the Palin legacy for many years, whether she returns to politics or not, not the other way around. Years from now, whenever the left complains about the tone in Washington, or treatment of someone running for office, "Palin" will be the response.

Gingrich and his jolly band of "Bomb Throwers" is the response.

She debated well, handled herself in public with professionalism

The swing voters I know don't agree with those two assertions at all. Her interviews and debates made her look like a ditz and a lightweight.

And as for media scrutiny, the same and worse was done to other candidates and presidents before Palin. If she can't handle it, the voters will sniff that out in a flash.

Palin is only a "threat" to herself and her political future. I posted a March poll here showing that Obama would trounce her like Nixon beat McGovern.
