Re: "The above is a simple equation Dan B. Everthing in the above equates if you know what a sociopath is"

Sorry, not so. Quite the opposite.

en.wikipedia.org

"Sociopathy is a loosely-defined term that may be used to refer to:

* Psychopathy
* Antisocial personality disorder
* Dissocial personality disorder"

en.wikipedia.org

"The psychopath is defined by a psychological gratification in criminal, sexual, or aggressive impulses and the inability to learn from past mistakes.[10][11][12] Individuals with this disorder gain satisfaction through their antisocial behavior and lack remorse for their actions."

en.wikipedia.org

"Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD or APD) is defined by the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual as "...a pervasive pattern of disregard for, and violation of, the rights of others..."

While the first and third (below) definition here don't equate to Ayn Rands statement any more than this 2nd one (above) does, this 2nd one is VERY illustrative of the fact that Rand's statement is in fact the exact OPPOSITE of what a psychopath would say, or is. In fact, she might be said to be simply noting that mans quest is to free men from sociopaths who in fact disregard the rights of others (i.e. "setting man free from man").

So, I'd say you really need to rethink what you thought Rand was talking about, and what a psyhcopath is (and fortunately, this post makes it easy for you to do all that).

en.wikipedia.org

Specifically, the dissocial personality disorder is described by the World Health Organization by the following criteria:

1. Callous unconcern for the feelings of others and lack of the capacity for empathy.
2. Gross and persistent attitude of irresponsibility and disregard for social norms, rules, and obligations.
3. Incapacity to maintain enduring relationships, though having no difficulty in establishing them.
4. Very low tolerance to frustration and a low threshold for discharge of aggression, including violence.
5. Incapacity to experience guilt and to profit from experience, particularly punishment.
6. Marked proneness to blame others or to offer plausible rationalizations for the behavior bringing the subject into conflict.
7. Persistent irritability."
