Or that she got an expensive wardrobe during her campaign chyaaa, the whole thing doesn't add up to one of the gowns worn by a wife of other politicians, and it's not like she did anything corrupt or illegal. Let's count the many times Sarah Palin has cheated taxpayers 1. Charging the state for living at home (commuting) 2. Not returning the dresses: that's income 3. Charging the state hauling her children on vacation 4. giving speech to Alaskan Independent State (to secede Alaska from the union) 7. Todd as full fledge member of the organization 8. First dude getting involved in state affairs by virtue of the power of the governor 9. Harassing state trooper to fire ex brother-in-law 10. Librarian got fired 11. Hypocrite 12. Got the entire family dressed up by the Republican party. That's income as well which is not reported. 13. Tells every body to abstain from sex before marriage, yet, Bristol has a baby out of wedlock 14. Just like G W Bush, Sarah felt she got a higher calling 15. Quitter. 16. If she cannot stand the heat, get out of the kitchen KOAN: feel free to add to the list

The "brutal persecution" (poss. transl. the usual media scrutiny of politicians with a national profile) ends when she makes it clear she no longer has ambitions for national office. Which doesn't yet seem to have happened, as far as I can tell. Is political discourse uncivil to the extent it borders on unpleasant ? Absolutely. Was Palin singled out for 'unfair' treatment ? I would find that tough to agree with.
