It's tough being a pragmatist.. Because it's difficult to find the truth through all the smoke and mirrors being put up by all parochial economic interests.

And sometimes when examining the details we find truth becomes a moving target. But in the broader view, there is nothing more true than the reality that people CHOOSE economic systems that best serve their interests.

Unfortunately, both Communism and Capitalism are equally well suited to permitting the self-proclaimed "Elite" to dominate and/or subjugate the masses. Neither system is inherently "Democratic", unless you're one of the lucky few who own the means of production.

That's why I've always been an advocate of extending corporate share ownership to employees. It makes them a stake holder in the corporation. It the company succeeds, the employees succeed. Keeps labor costs in check (no need to unionize) and provides incentive to the workforce to increase productivity.
