We don't and I can't imagine it. Now price can affect when its no longer economic to produce a well vs plugging and abandoning it. Or whether to go forward with a project.

Many companies slash drilling budgets when prices fall. and lay off people. Companies that can afford not to and are far-seeing enough not to, benefit over the long haul. I know some projects we were investing in in 1998, when we nearly had to write off the investment in a particular country at year end due to low prices, are making big bucks now. We're actually hiring bigtime and uping our spending now.

Many small and what I'd call medium sized companies hedge. Mine never has. Some companies are too big. Employees here are not allowed to invest in futures, even USO, for their own account as a condition of employment.
