In 2007, the ethanol and biofuels industries got $3.25 billion in subsidies. The oil and gas industry got $1.92 billion.

And when one looks at the total percentage of revenues these subsidies involve, it's pretty clear that ethanol's percentage is astronomically higher.

Any subsidies received by oil is a small percentage of their overall revenue stream.
