Andie-- No real news except better looking valuation. ASNDs marketcap is now $5.55 Billion dollars. When ASND bought out CSCC, ASND paid about $3.7 billion AT THAT TIME for CSCC, based on the share price of ASND on March 30 (it may not be worth $3.7 billion now, but that is what ASND thought CSCC was WORTH at that time. CSCC had about $400 MM in trailing sales): ALAMEDA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 30, 1997 Under the terms of the agreement, each share of Cascade common stock will be exchanged for 0.7 of a share of Ascend common stock. Outstanding options to purchase Cascade stock will be converted at the exchange ratio into Ascend options. The transaction is intended to be accounted for as a pooling of interests and to qualify as a tax-free reorganization. Based on the closing price of Ascend common stock on March 27, 1997, the deal is valued at approximately $3.7 billion. Look, I was the biggest ASND bear about 6-9 months ago. I never shorted ASND although looking back, the numbers didnt lie (the price of ASND when these posts were made was > $60 if I recall): techstocks.com Back in those days, ASND had a $7.7 billion marketcap WITHOUT CSCC.
