Yes, that was before the Bush TARP spending took effect -- which was all that was needed in the first place.


No, it wasn't all that was needed. Its one of several elements that was needed to recover from the worst economic president since Herbert Hoover....another winger president.

There is no disagreement amongst knowledgeable individuals -- the so-called "stimulus" has done nothing. That's why they want another one.

There was always the argument that the stimulus bill was too small esp. after the Republican cuts but it was the only bill that Rs and some Dems would permit. In any case, the vast majority of stimulus projects have just gone into ground inspite of supposedly being shovel ready back in March. Furthermore, the stimulus was intended to help spark the recovery not be the recovery itself. Obama has been said from the get go that the recovery will be slow to happen.
