Some advantages for Sarah when she resigns...

1) The governor's job only pays $125K/year, so she can make much more money elsewhere.

2) After she's gone, she's no longer doing anything new that could precipitate ethics complaints.

3) Maybe her departure will shut off all new ethics complaints for prior actions. Can someone file an ethics complaint against an ex-state-employee? I don't know. (Note: The ankle biters are actively searching state records via FOIA requests to find material for new ethics complaints and lawsuits.)

4) Physical distance from the Governor's office will make it psychologically easier for her to ignore the frivolous time-wasting on ethics complaints. She can travel and vacation, while her lawyer and the state staff handle any remaining issues.
