The point is, who do you want making the decision as to how to treat YOUR cancer, should you develop it?

Your government? Or your physician?

For you, "watchful waiting" may be fine. For me, I'm going to tell them I don't want to watchfully wait I want to do something. Like now. I suspect there are others who feel the same way.

Why should that be the call of a government bureaucrat or committee?

That's the good part of American medicine - we always had the intellectual and economic ability to pioneer new things. Since the economic prowess seems to be migrating to China, maybe forward looking medicine will also follow. Time will show.

Remember reading some time in the 90's that Queens county at the time had more diagnostic MRI units than the entire nation of Canada. Looks like we'll be trying to catch up - to the downside.... :)
