Most of the people I respect are more or less singing from the same hymn book.

A bear market rally, not sustainable by fundamentals but by massive monetary easing is ensuing. Market technicals are weak, and showing signs of rolling over. Dow close below 8200 is ominous.

When the next disaster breaks (Another state going belly up, commercial real estate, another AIG or bank bailout, or ???), all may get sucked down in the resulting vortex.

One day gold decouples from the madness and skyrockets. Pick the right day for deflation to end and inflation to begin and make big, big bucks.

Got a date in mind?

A deep correction ST in the stock market accomplishes what Ben couldn't - namely a drop in long term rates due to the flight to safety trade. I'm not ruling out one more run based on this earnings season's forecasts, but I see it as unlikely.
