Only 45 years? McNamara was a war criminal causing over 60,000 brave American lives, and untold number of soldiers permanently disabled. He got away scott free, not even having to suffer. The Vietnam war cause most of teh country contaminated with poison which will take millions of years to clean. Even if McNamara repents and ask forgiveness, he should shoulder the consequences of his action. Even the good Lord forgave David for sending a general to die front line so that he could get the general's wife. But David had to pay for his sin. McNamara was scott free. He only said mea culpa. Did he ever try in anyway to repair his crime, like donating his wealth to the family of our brave soldiers he sacrified in that bloody war, or did he ever organized charitable undertakings to help Vietnam which he destroyed?
