I've been wrestling with the question of why liberals are so hateful towards SP and can't help but believe that it is in retribution for the way Bill Clinton was, and still is treated by Conservatives.

That doesn't answer why Sarah Palin and not some other target. They don't behave this way to Mitt Romney or Tim Pawlenty.

Elitist contempt, sexism, and a profound fear that they won't own to, is my answer.

A successful woman Republican or black Republican represents a dagger to the heart of the basic coalition of D interest groups. Someday a black Republican will win in one of the inner city job for life districts and really shake up the Dems. When the black population is not totally in the tank for one party their power will be radically increased. For now they are simply taken for granted as automatic votes - votes that are from safe for life districts. For instance - Marcia Fudge from Ohio rolled over for the Ds in a state that would be severely impacted by C and T. Of course - Marcy Kaptur sold her vote for a multi billion $ federal program. The growth of government goes on and on and on and on and on.

Bill Clinton actually brought his troubles down on himself.

I'd hardly compare romps with a beefy mistress in a blue dress under the desk in the Oval Office, a string of bimbos and other assorted victims of his overactive glands, and lying under oath with having more than 2.1 children, including a Downs child, hunting moose or fishing salmon, attending 3 or 4 non-Ivy League colleges, and even firing a trooper who inappropriately threatens people with guns.

Would you?

IMO, the only thing that compares the two is that Bill was a proponent of sexism and was given a pass by women's groups whereas Palin (and his own wife, for that matter) were victims of sexism and, in the case of Palin, not stood up for by women's groups.
