>>When do you think Apple will launch their new in-house developed ARM-based Macs?

They have a huge in house development team working on these new chips.

They can then dump Intel and be completely vertically integrated.<<

Ehrlich -

An intriguing question, with a one word answer. Never. Having Intel chips inside their computers offers enormous benefits to Apple, including the ability to run Windows alongside or instead of Mac OS.

I think the chips they develop in-house will be for the iPhone and iPod Touch, and for other kinds of special-purpose portable machines. Not for computers designed for general use.

As always, I have no special inside information, and could be wrong. But I don't think I am in this case.
