there's nothing in between to catch the customers who like to get fiddly with their cheap computers.

Maybe they can just not assemble an iMac or mini, sell the pieces in box with instructions and maybe a hex wrench to put it all together. It'll allow people to brag "I know how to build a computer ha ha ha !"

They could call it the iKea iMac


That would work until after it was put together, unless it didn't work. Then they could satisfy their gettin' fiddly itch troubleshooting their mistakes.
