>>All politicians are narcissistic to some degree.<<

Of course, they have to be. I focus on Palin because I have the local knowledge, but I sure do see Obama heading for a potential train wreck. It will be quite fascinating to watch him and and his fans handle the impending cognitive dissonance as reality collides with all his nice, pretty, flowery words.

>>According to this guy, Sarah Palin didn't accomplish anything as governor. But according to most other accounts, she did.<<

Her achievements sound great on paper, but the "outside" perspective is superficial. Her three main accomplishments were legislation for ethics reform, gasline development, and energy taxation. I expect these to be revisited by the legislature over the next two years:

1) Even some of Sarah's most fervent detractors recognize that the ethics legislation needs to be tightened up to discourage frivolous complaints. That will open up an opportunity to weaken the legislation, so we'll probably have a battle.

2) The gasline economics are starting to favor the LNG export option that many of Sarah's critics want. That undermines Sarah's whole claim about working for US energy independence.

3) Sarah's energy taxation policies will likely need major revisions to make the gasline rpoject financially viable.

Much of the political class here in both parties is relieved to see her exiting, so they can get down to business and face these issues. The endless soap opera has been a huge distraction.
